Donate, Donate, Donate!
Garage sales take time, labor, permits, signs, and you’re still stuck at the end with things that didn’t sell. Do more with those usable items by donating them and deducting it from your taxes. Someone that really needs the item will get it, and it benefits the organization. Keep a ‘Mission Barrel’, or some other depository in a closet or garage. Many agencies will come to you to pick up items, and if you’ve donated once you’ll find they call you to see if you have items. Keep a box of things to go and when they call you can always say ‘Yes!’
A Spicy Problem
Many folks have cabinets or racks jammed full of spices from 1972. Take all yours and empty the jars. Try WD-40 to get the labels off, and wash with warm soapy water. Then go to a store where you can buy tiny quantities of bulk herbs & spices, refill and label your new jars. I refilled with fresh dried basil for only .05¢; a jar is about $5 on the spice aisle!
Truth Time!
"Oh, I can’t toss that, I might need it one of these days..."
"It was left to me by my beloved aunt..."
"No, I'm saving that for my kids. I know, I don't have any yet...but someday..."
Okey doke. Look at that object. Is it letting you live for TODAY? Or is it keeping you held down to the past, or forcing you to hoard for the future? Live for TODAY: time travel gives people headaches.
